우제길미술관은 2025 특별기획전 《우제길: The Blooming》을 개최한다. 한국을 대표하는 추상화가 우제길(1942~)의 작품 세계를 조명하는 이번 전시는 꽃빛 시리즈의 탄생과 성장, 그리고 절정을 축복하는 여정을 담고 있다. ‘The Blooming’은 꽃이 피어나는 순간의 아름다움을 통해 자연의 순환과 시간의 흐름을 형상화하며, 관람객들에게 삶의 역동성과 따뜻한 위로를 전하고자 한다.
꽃빛 시리즈는 단순한 색채의 조합이 아니라 ‘생명을 품은 빛’에 대한 깊은 탐구와 사색의 결과물이다. 그의 작품 속 빛은 정적인 배경이 아니라 확산하며 관람자를 작품의 심연으로 이끈다. ‘피어남’이라는 주제 아래, 꽃이 봉오리에서 만개하기까지의 과정을 담은 회화와 설치 작품들은 삶 속에서 반복되는 시작과 성장, 그리고 결실의 순간을 상징하며, 우리의 모든 순간이 모여 인생이라는 한 폭의 그림을 완성함을 보여준다.
이번 전시는 생명의 본질과 빛의 의미를 탐구하는 여정이 될 것이다. 색과 빛의 확산에서 느껴지는 정서적 울림은 깊은 사색과 치유의 순간을 제공하며, 꽃이 피어나는 과정에서 시간, 빛, 온기, 보이지 않는 에너지가 어우러지는 자연의 섬세한 조화를 담아낸다. 빛과 색의 향연 속에서 각자의 내면에 깃든 희망과 생명력을 발견하고, 우제길 화백이 그려낸 생명의 찬가를 함께 경험할 수 있다.

The Woo Jaeghil Art Museum of Art will hold a special exhibition in 2025, 《Woo Jaeghil: The Blooming》. This exhibition sheds light on the work of Woo Jaeghil (1942–), one of Korea's representative abstract artists, and celebrates the birth, growth, and culmination of his Flower Light Series. "The Blooming" captures the beauty of a flower blooming, symbolizing the cycles of nature and the passage of time, while conveying the dynamic energy of life and a warm sense of comfort to the viewers.
The Flower Light Series is not merely a combination of colors, but the result of a deep exploration and contemplation of "light that contains life." The light in his works does not serve as a static background but diffuses, drawing the viewer into the depths of the piece. Under the theme of "blooming," the paintings and installations depicting the process of a flower blooming from a bud to full bloom symbolize the repetitive cycles of beginnings, growth, and fruition in life, showing that every moment comes together to complete the painting of our lives.
This exhibition will be a journey to explore the essence of life and the meaning of light. The emotional resonance felt through the diffusion of color and light offers a moment of deep reflection and healing, while capturing the delicate harmony of nature where time, light, warmth, and invisible energy come together in the process of a flower blooming. In this celebration of light and color, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the hope and vitality within themselves and experience Woo Jaeghil's hymn to life.
